Meet James.

I’m James Sjouwerman, founder of Turn the Deal. My career in automotive has taken me from sales to dealership management, working with teams, customers and pre-owned inventory. That experience is the foundation of the business I run today.

Turn the Deal focuses on vehicle acquisition and wholesale. It’s work that draws on what I know well: understanding vehicles, reading the market and building relationships within the automotive industry.

Originally from Ontario, I spent much of my career in Alberta before my wife, Rita, and I settled in North Vancouver with our two kids. A few drives along the Sea to Sky made it easy to see why people love the West Coast.

I’ve always loved cars—the design, the performance and how they feel to drive. As a dad, I’ve also learned to appreciate room for car seats, sports equipment and everything else that comes with family life. Cars are still a passion, even when the back seat is full of sand toys.
